Thinking about visiting Georgia with your little one? Our week-long adventure in Georgia with our 19-month-old son, Logan, was full of breathtaking landscapes, delicious food, and family-friendly experiences. Georgia is an underrated gem—easy to explore, affordable, and filled with welcoming locals who absolutely love children!
Visiting in late October to early November, we enjoyed mild autumn weather in Tbilisi (22°C / 72°F) and cooler mountain temperatures in Kazbegi (8°C / 46°F). If you're planning a trip to Georgia with kids, here’s an itinerary packed with must-see destinations, travel tips, and family-friendly recommendations!

Day 1: Arrival & Old Town Exploration
• Accommodation: Ambassadori Hotel (luxury) or Airbnb ($35/night options)
• Transport: Uber for short rides
• Meals: Dinner at Restaurant Pasanauri – Try the homemade lemonade and famous khinkali (Georgian dumplings)!
After arriving in Tbilisi, we checked into Ambassadori Hotel, a great-value luxury stay. If you're traveling on a budget, Tbilisi has plenty of affordable Airbnbs.
Spend your first evening strolling through Tbilisi Old Town—a beautiful maze of colorful houses, charming balconies, and cobbled streets. End the day with a cozy Georgian meal at Pasanauri.
Day 2: Exploring Tbilisi with a Toddler
• Morning: Playtime at Rike Park, then take the cable car to the Mother of Georgia statue
• Afternoon: Botanical Garden stroll (not stroller-friendly, bring a baby carrier)
• Meals: Try Adjarian Khachapuri (cheese bread) at a local bakery
Rike Park is perfect for toddlers to burn off energy before heading up the cable car. The views from the ride are amazing! The Botanical Garden is a nice escape but keep in mind it’s not stroller-friendly.
Day 3: Dashbashi Canyon & Diamond Bridge
• Transport: Guided day tour
• Activities: Hike through the canyon, cross the Diamond Bridge, lunch inside the bridge café
• Family Tip: Bring a baby carrier—the terrain is not stroller-friendly
This day trip from Tbilisi is perfect for adventure lovers! The Diamond Bridge offers stunning views of the canyon, and you can even dine inside the bridge café! The hike is manageable with a baby carrier and worth the effort.
Day 4: Journey to Kazbegi – Gergeti Trinity Church & Scenic Views
• Transport: Guided tour with multiple scenic stops
• Must-See Stops:
• Ananuri Fortress (historic castle with lake views)
• Russia-Georgia Friendship Monument (panoramic mountain views)
• Gergeti Trinity Church (iconic church above Kazbegi)
• Accommodation: Rooms Hotel Kazbegi (Spa, mountain views, but slightly outdated)
Kazbegi is one of Georgia’s most beautiful regions. The drive through the mountains is breathtaking, but if you're traveling with a toddler, be prepared for winding roads (motion sickness alert!).
Day 5: Hiking, Wine Tasting & Relaxing in Kazbegi
• Morning: Light hiking in the Kazbegi mountains
• Afternoon: Visit the Russian border & Dariali Monastery
• Highlight: Wine tasting at Dariali Monastery
• Family Tip: Dress warmly—it’s much colder here than in Tbilisi!
Kazbegi is all about relaxing, hiking, and enjoying the mountains. The wine tasting at Dariali Monastery was a lovely surprise—Georgians are famous for their wine culture!
Day 6: Gudauri & Paragliding, Return to Tbilisi
• Activity: Paragliding in Gudauri (for adventurous parents!)
• Transport: GoTrip private driver (you can stop as often as needed)
• Family Tip: A private driver is a great option with kids—it gives you flexibility for stops and breaks.
Gudauri is Georgia’s famous ski resort, but it’s also a great place for paragliding with stunning mountain views! We hired a private driver through GoTrip, which allowed us to stop as often as we liked—a lifesaver with a toddler!
Day 7: Funicular to Mtatsminda Park & Departure
• Activity: Take the funicular from Rose Revolution Square to Mtatsminda Park
• Family Tip: This cable car offers better views than the Mother of Georgia ride!
• Final Meal: Enjoy one last Georgian feast before heading to the airport!
Mtatsminda Park is a fun hilltop amusement park with great city views—perfect for your last day!
Family-Friendly Travel Tips for Georgia (🇬🇪)
✔️ Kid-Friendly Locals – Georgians LOVE kids! Expect lots of friendly interactions, high-fives, and extra attention for your little one.
✔️ Strollers vs. Baby Carriers – Tbilisi Old Town and mountain hikes are not stroller-friendly. A baby carrier is a must.
✔️ Food & High Chairs – Most restaurants welcome kids, but high chairs are rare. Georgian food is very family-friendly, and our toddler loved khachapuri & khinkali!
✔️ Weather & Packing – Dress in layers. Tbilisi is mild (22°C / 72°F), but Kazbegi is cold (8°C / 46°F), so bring warm clothes!
✔️ Affordable or Expensive? – Georgia is budget-friendly, but you can also splurge on luxury hotels & experiences.
Final Verdict: Is Georgia a Good Destination for Families in November?
✅ Absolutely! Georgia is an amazing, underrated family travel destination with a mix of history, nature, adventure, and kid-friendly experiences. Whether you're exploring Tbilisi’s old streets, hiking in Kazbegi, or sipping wine in a monastery, this country has something for everyone!
Would we return? YES! And we’d recommend it to any family looking for a unique adventure.
