As the year draws to a close, we can’t help but feel immense gratitude for the incredible journeys we’ve taken as a family. From historic cities in Europe to exotic destinations farther afield, 2024 has been a whirlwind of adventure, discovery, and cherished moments with Logan in tow. Here’s a look back at the amazing places we explored this year.
As we step into 2025, we’re already dreaming of new destinations and unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s revisiting old favourites or exploring places we’ve never been, one thing is certain: the journey matters just as much as the destination.
To all our fellow family travellers, thank you for following along on our adventures this year. Here’s to making 2025 even more memorable!

January: Oxford, UK – The City of Dreaming Spires
We began 2024 in the historic city of Oxford. Known for its prestigious university and stunning architecture, this winter getaway offered picturesque walks, fascinating museums, and cosy cafes perfect for warming up. It was a magical way to start the year and a reminder that travel can be enchanting even in the colder months.
April: Brighton, UK – A Seaside Retreat
Brighton brought springtime charm to our travels. This vibrant seaside town captivated us with its iconic pier, quirky Lanes filled with independent shops, and the refreshing coastal breeze. Brighton is a fantastic family destination, and Logan loved playing on the pebbly beach while we enjoyed traditional fish and chips.
May: Marrakech, Morocco – A Taste of Exotic Adventure
Our first African adventure took us to Marrakech. This vibrant city mesmerised us with its bustling souks, stunning palaces, and fragrant spice markets. Highlights included a day trip to the Atlas Mountains and relaxing in tranquil riads. Marrakech was a sensory delight and an unforgettable experience for our little family.
July: Croatia – Exploring Kastela, Trogir, Split, and Dubrovnik
Croatia was a summer dream come true. We started in Kastela, a hidden gem on the Dalmatian coast, and explored the historic streets of Trogir and Split. Ending in Dubrovnik, we walked along ancient city walls and enjoyed breathtaking views of the Adriatic. Croatia proved to be one of the most family-friendly destinations we’ve visited.
August: Italy – Bologna, Venice, and Florence
Italy welcomed us with open arms in August. Bologna wowed us with its culinary delights, Venice charmed us with its romantic canals, and Florence dazzled with its art and history. Travelling with a toddler in Italy meant frequent gelato stops, and we weren’t complaining! This trip was a highlight of the year.
September: Amsterdam, Netherlands
During our week in Amsterdam we indulged in the most popular activities. We went on a canal tour, visited some museums and strolled through the Vondelpark. Despite its reputation for nightlife unholy things, Amsterdam also truly has a child friendly side.
October: Georgia – Tbilisi and Kazbegi
Georgia was a revelation. From the colourful streets of Tbilisi to the stunning landscapes of Kazbegi, this country offered a perfect mix of culture and adventure. Highlights included sampling incredible Georgian cuisine and marvelling at the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains. Georgia is a must-visit destination for families seeking something different.
November: Valencia, Spain – Sunshine and Paella
Valencia brought Mediterranean warmth to our November travels. We explored the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, strolled through the Turia Gardens, and indulged in authentic paella by the beach. Valencia’s laid-back atmosphere and sunny weather made it a fantastic family destination.
Christmas at Home – Cherished Moments with Family and Friends
Before our final trip of the year, we spent Christmas at home surrounded by family and friends. Decorating the tree, sharing festive meals, and watching Logan’s joy as he unwrapped presents reminded us of the true meaning of the season. It was a heartwarming pause in a year filled with adventure.
December: Dubai, UAE – Ending the Year in Style
We closed the year in glittering Dubai, where modern skyscrapers meet desert landscapes. Highlights included visiting the Burj Khalifa, experiencing a desert safari, and enjoying the winter sun. Dubai offered the perfect mix of luxury and family-friendly fun, making it a fitting end to an unforgettable year.
